About PIN(People in Need):
The PIN (people in need) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Prague that promotes humanism, freedom, equality, and solidarity. Human dignity and freedom are basic values, and we think that individuals everywhere should have the ability to make their own decisions and to share the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
People in Need’s Afghanistan country program began in November 2001, with emergency food distribution in the middle highlands’ hilly terrain. The program has developed and varied over the years, but it still promotes PIN’s key values: visualizing a future where individuals are free to make their own decisions about their life, free from the constraints of an unfree society, poverty, lack of knowledge, or prejudice. Today, we operate throughout the humanitarian and development spectrum, offering emergency assistance and assisting Afghanistan’s most vulnerable in finding long-term solutions to their problems.
