Job description:

We’re searching for people who have a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, or a similar discipline, have completed 3-6 ACCA examinations, and have at least 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management. We’re looking for employees that are dedicated, honest, diligent, eager to learn, and capable of assisting Afghan companies in improving their financial systems.

Quest is seeking competent finance graduates and experienced finance mentors to work closely with finance graduates in order to assist client firms in implementing better financial management systems.

The duration of this employment is six months. In each of the four areas, there are 4-8 vacancies for Finance Graduates (Kabul, Mazar, Herat, and Jalalabad). For their job assignment, each of the chosen Finance Graduates will be allocated to a local company. The Finance Graduate will be in charge of the overall financial activities of the assigned local firm, reporting to the owner but working under the supervision of a Quest professional finance mentor as part of a structured financial training program.

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • Help the financial mentor in completing client business evaluations and work plans, as well as collaborating with the finance mentor in determining the best accounting system for the company.
  • Prepare a migration strategy for the firm from the present accounting system to the new system with the help of a finance mentor if the current accounting system is ineffective.
  • Work with the finance mentor to develop/create a financial framework for the company.
  • Post all opening balances to the accounting system and file suitable paperwork under the supervision of your finance mentor.
  • Together with the appointed finance mentor and the business, develop financial processes and procedures.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly business sales/revenue reports under the supervision of a financial mentor.
  • Cash controls, daily cash reconciliations, advances, and liquidations should all be established and maintained.
  • Cash books and bank statements should be prepared, maintained, and reconciled.
  • Account Receivables/Payables must be established and maintained.
  • Assist the business with cash transactions with the bank, such as cash withdrawals and bank reconciliation statements.
  • Assist the firm with the preparation of all financial statements under the supervision of a finance mentor.
  • Assist firms with tax clearing under the supervision of a finance mentor.
  • Organize accounting records and financial reports in the proper filing systems.
  • And any additional duties that are deemed required in order to develop and maintain the client’s accounting and financial system.
