Job summary

The Freelance Translator/Interpreter will transcribe audio/video interviews, surveys, and communications, as well as translate technical tools, reports, manuals, and guidelines.

Main responsibility:

• Provide accurate and realistic interpretation and transcription from Pashto/Dari to English, as well as the other way around;
• Interpret numerous grammar and phrases from English Pashto/Dari to include informal and slang phrases, and opposite.
• Scanning, researching, and analyzing source language documents accurately;
• Maintaining ATR’s commitment to a stringent security policy for all interviewees, as well as the privacy of interview records.
• Evaluating initial translations for errors and mistranslations (identification of speakers, formatting, harmonization, time stamps, and so on).
• Checking people’s names and locations completely;
• Participating in the ATR Interpretation Glossary’s creation;
• As needed, further related duties will be allocated.

Documents requirement:

• The applicants should have at least a High school certificate and proficiency in English language is required and priority is given to English/Dari/Pashto literature who have a bachelor degree.
• Work experience is required in translating, reviewing or editing, and having experience in the following fields (legal, financial health and nutrition)
• The applicants should have an excellent typing skill
• Fluency in both written and oral Dari, Pashto and English is essential. Knowledge of Uzbeki language is an asset.
• the applicantsfamiliar with MS Office (Word, Excel).
