Summary of the Job:
As a livelihood humanitarian activity, the apprenticeship programme aims to assist Afghans in gaining work experience so that they may compete for jobs in the mainstream economy. Thousands more apprentices are expected to be placed with firms over the next year, with the goal of assisting them in obtaining full-time employment or becoming self-employed.
The Provincial Apprenticeship Coordinator (PAC) will work in one or more provincial population centres specified by the livelihood initiative, under the direction and in conjunction with a Regional Apprenticeship Coordinator. A Regional Apprenticeship Coordinator will be in charge of reporting to the Provincial Apprenticeship Coordinator (RAC).
The Provincial Apprenticeship Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of apprenticeship programs in his geographic area, which will include:
- collecting and processing apprenticeship documentation,
- building and nurturing relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders, and
- identifying opportunities for work experience placements.
- Carry out province level apprenticeship program operations in close collaboration with the Regional Apprenticeship Coordinator (RAC) and with advice from the RAC. Collecting applications/information from applicants, inputting data into databases, collecting and processing apprentice timesheets, and collecting comments and information from employers are all part of the apprenticeship program’s activity routines.
- Perform outreach, identification, and selection of firms in the province that will house apprentices. Collect apprenticeship and job opening information from firms around the province and enter it into the database.
- Recruit and place apprentices through outreach, recruiting, and placement. Ascertain that apprentice are thoroughly vetted.
- To monitor programs, work closely with the M&E professional. At least once a month, the Provincial Apprenticeship Coordinator is supposed to report to the Regional Coordinator.
Job qualification and requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience executing professional development, training, or community outreach programs is desirable, with prior experience working with international organizations, humanitarian organizations, or donor-funded projects preferable.
- It is critical to have a working knowledge of province and local companies and employers, as well as the capacity to perform professional outreach to and connect with Afghan enterprises.
- Apprenticeship and on-the-job training programs are familiar to you.
- Organizes herself well and is capable of doing administrative jobs such as data entry.
- Strong communication abilities and the ability to successfully engage program participants.
- Depending on the locale, fluency (written and spoken) in Dari or Pashto, as well as conversational ability/familiarity with the other local language.
- Knowledgeable in the usage of a smartphone or Android tablet, as well as data input. Must be able to travel within the province(s) in which the job is located.
