About Azerbaijan Government Scholarship:

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued orders on December 6, 2017, and January 10, 2018, respectively, to approve “The Educational Grant Program for Citizens of Member Countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation” and “The Educational Grant Program for Citizens of Member Countries of the Non-Aligned Movement.” The Educational Grant (hereinafter “scholarship”) Programs provide an annual opportunity for selected candidates to study at Azerbaijan’s top universities in preparatory courses, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and general medicine/residency programs.

The following costs are covered by the Azerbaijan Scholarship:

Who can apply:

Applicants should be a citizen of member countries of:

  • Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC): Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, the Palestinian, Yemen.
  • Non-Aligned Movement (NAM):  list of the county Here.
  • Should be qualified to enroll in the selected program.
  • (Certificate and transcript from high school, university, or graduate school).
  • Have a contagious illness while being healthy.
  • A valid travel document (passport) is required.
  • For undergraduate and general medicine programs, you must be under the age of 25.
  • For graduate and residency programs, you must be under the age of 30.
  • For PhD studies, you must be under the age of 40.

Language:

  • Language: Applicants should be able to communicate well in English. It is not required that you have a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Documents requirement for Azerbaijan government scholarships:

  • Fist completed the online application form.
  • Diplomas and transcripts from prior studies with an English translation that has been notarized.
  • Only Russian-language papers are exempt from having to be translated, certified, or notarized in English.
  • Having Passport.
  • A medical certificate stating that you are in excellent health.
  • Curriculum Vitae or Resume.
  • Motivation letter.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency is required.
  • Travel to Azerbaijan will need the use of a COVID-Passport.

To enroll in a university in Azerbaijan, students must submit the following documents:

  • an application letter sent to the rector of the specific educational institution, specifying the specialty and language of study;
  • Diplomas and transcripts from previous courses are required high school or university studies). It should be notarized and translated into the relevant languages.

  • Copies of additional certificates and degrees are also available.

Note: If applicants are accepted into postgraduate programs, their diplomas and transcripts must be apostille-ed or validated by appropriate government agencies in the respective countries.

How to apply:

This scholarship is not open to direct applications. They should fill out the application form and send it, along with other required documents, to one of the countries’ authorized representatives (such as ministries of higher education, foreign affairs, or embassies) to send their application to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its diplomatic missions in other countries.
