South Asia University provides scholarships for eight countries those countries who are members of SARC. This is a good chance for an Afghan student to continue their study at South Asia University. This program includes a Master’s degree and Ph.D., it is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are the eight countries that make up the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), and together they founded the international institution known as South Asian University (SAU).
- Entrance test on 20 and 21 April 2024.
- The last deadline: is March 30, 2024.
- Test duration: take 2 hours.

Master’s
Programmes
- 50% of seats are reserved for Indian applicants in all the Master’s level programs.
- 4% of seats are reserved for applicants from each of the following five countries: Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
- 10% of seats are reserved for applicants from each of the following countries: Pakistan and Bangladesh.
- 10% seats may be allotted to applicants from outside the SAARC region.
- Merit lists will be prepared country-wise and the competition will only be amongst candidates within each country.
- If the seats allocated to a particular country are not filled, they will be allocated to students from other countries, as per SAU rules.
NOTE:
A certain group of Ph.D. candidates will begin receiving direct calls for interviews in 2023. They are not required to take the entrance exam. To learn more, go to “Ph.D. Programs.” Nevertheless, in addition to applying through the Direct Method, such applicants can take the Entrance Test. For each admissions method, a separate application must be filled out.
