Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the office’s accounting and financial administration.
- Accounting management and ensuring that financial data is recorded correctly and on time.
- Examine all invoices and vouchers to ensure that they are accompanied by any necessary papers.
- In accordance with BKB rules and procedures, establish and maintain an appropriate filing and documentation system.
- All invoices and payment papers should be accompanied by vouchers.
- All vouchers should be filed and labelled according to the BKB filing system.
- Prepare ledgers and closing paperwork on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Ascertain that all financial data is recorded correctly and in accordance with the budget.
- Counting currency on a daily basis.
- Reconcile cash costs on a regular basis and verify that they are fully cleared at the end of each month.
- Assist auditors with audits and discover marked vouchers for them.
- Work closely with Kabul’s Finance Department.
- Prepare monthly reports that are thorough, accurate, and timely.
- Examine, double-check, and validate any financial information entered.
- Monitor and manage costs to ensure that they are properly allocated to the correct cost centers and that all other obligations are completed.
Job qualification and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, economics, statistics, social sciences, or a similar field in the social sciences is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in development economics, social sciences, poverty eradication, and social protection.
- Experience implementing a Cash Distribution in a post-conflict or conflict situation.
- English, Dari, or Pashto are all acceptable languages.
