Job responsibilities:

  • To provide safe and effective services, provide transportation for allowed people, including basic conversational translation from/to the local tongue, and/or delivery of various items/commodities in accordance with permitted routing and UN safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Greet representatives of the government and tourists at the airport or other entry points and offer fundamental help with visa and customs requirements to ensure a smooth and secure entry and arrival to the authorized locations.
  • In order to guarantee effective vehicle usage and fuel consumption that supports accurate accounting and cost-efficiency, responsible for the proper maintenance of the vehicle log books and daily reporting to the supervisor on the mechanical state.
  • In charge of ensuring that the assigned vehicle is kept clean, in excellent working order, and supplied with the necessary supplies and travel authorizations. Any technical problems must also be notified to the supervisor in order to ensure safe and effective services.
  • Comply with specified norms and regulations for field deliveries and/or in the event of an accident, and notify the supervisor right once of any obvious issues in order to get guidance and allow informed judgments about the next course of action.
  • In addition to your driving responsibilities, conduct basic office-related activities including filing, copying, and store maintenance as needed. This includes providing clients with administrative help by delivering and collecting various products, mailing out packages, and paying phone and other bills.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma obtained. formal driving instruction and a current driver’s license or certification are required to operate the allocated car in accordance with local laws.

Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience operating armored vehicles, ideally with a foreign government, embassy, or UN system, and a track record of safe driving. driving experience in a range of truck and car makes and models, as well as other motorized vehicles like vans. Defensive driving expertise is preferred.

Language:

  • Fluency (level C) in Pashto, Dari, and English, with a preference for both.

Other responsibilities:

  • An understanding of traffic laws, courtesy standards for chauffeurs, local waterways/roads, and security concerns.
  • An understanding of the loading capacity and other factors for the vehicle.
  • An understanding of traffic laws and operating procedures.
  • Awareness of safety guidelines and tools (e.g. fire extinguishers, buoyant wearable safety devices, etc.).
  • The capacity to read and comprehend manuals for procedures, operating and maintenance guidelines, and safety regulations.
  • Basic first aid techniques knowledge and abilities to help in an emergency
  • Proficiency in the use of apps such as radio, email, and the telephone.
  • The capacity to judge the mechanical soundness of cars and expertise in making simple repairs to them.
  • The capacity to exhibit a client-centered mindset, a strong sense of responsibility, courtesies, and tact.
