Duties and job responsibilities:
- Help with the project log frame matrix updating, especially with regard to performance indicators and their assessment.
- Contribute to the creation and/or completion of the project work plan, and maintain it updated as necessary to reflect project activities and deadlines.
- Create the overarching framework for the project’s monitoring and evaluation, including the mid-project review, impact assessment, and final evaluation, and create the project’s performance monitoring plan with the appropriate data collecting tools.
- Examine the quality of the data already collected on the topics covered by the project, the techniques used to acquire it, and the extent to which it will yield reliable baseline data for impact assessment.
- Create baseline information for each project indicator and component.
- Conduct a baseline nutritional study before the research begins.
- Review existing management information systems and processes with cooperating partners, and come to an agreement on any necessary adjustments, resources, and support.
- Create a strategy for the expansion of project-related M&E capacity as well as any potential need for computer-based assistance.
- Organize and carry out M&E training with collaborating partners as necessary.
- Create reports on M&E results and, where necessary, produce presentations using M&E data.
- Give the project manager any management information they might need.
- Verify that monitoring data are timely addressed in the proper forum on the implications for further action.
- Create such conversations if necessary to close any gaps.
