Chinese Government Scholarship – Donghua University

As one of the key universities directly under the Ministry of Education of China, DHU has been appointed to accept international students with a Chinese Government Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as CSC) from 1954. Each year, DHU accepts about 100 Chinese Government Scholarship students from all over the world to pursue undergraduate (bachelor’s) or postgraduate (master’s or doctoral) degrees or study as visiting scholars in degree programs and Chinese language programs.

Eligibility

• Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
•  Not be an enrolled degree student in Chinese universities at the time of application.
•  Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
• Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
•  Be excellent in academic and extra-curricular performance and yet not be rewarded any other scholarships offered by the government, institutes or organizations in China.

Duration

• Master’s degree programs: 2.5 to 3 years (might be extended for 1-year Chinese language study)
• Doctoral degree programs: 4 years (might be extended for 1-year Chinese language study)

How to apply

• Check first if DHU offers the academic program you plan to learn as well as whether it is covered by CSC scholarships or not.
• Before applying to DHU, one has to complete CSC online application at www.campuschina.org in order to save information in the scholarship application database.
• Then, complete the following steps to accomplish your application to DHU: 1). Fill out DHU’s online application at admissions.dhu.edu.cn, 2). Submit the hard copies of the complete application materials required, and 3). Pay the application fee

• When to apply: generally from the beginning of January to the beginning of April; for the exact dates, please consult the accordingly receiving agency listed above.

• Final result announcement: the accordingly receiving agency listed above will contact the applicants directly for the final result.

• Where to apply: Apply to the designated dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country, e.g., the Chinese Embassy or Consulates, NOT TO Donghua University.
