I. Introduction
Xiamen University is one of the prestigious universities designated to recruit international students to study in postgraduate degree programs under this scholarship scheme.
II. Eligibility
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
- Master’s programs: hold a bachelor’s degree or above and be under the age of 35;
- Doctoral programs: hold a master’s degree or above and be under the age of 40.

IV. Duration of Scholarships
- Master’s programs: 2 or 3 years;
- 2. Doctoral programs: 4 years.
V. Chinese Medium Requirement
Only by passing the required HSK test within the first year and meeting the entry requirements of the relevant degree programs could they then start the major study.

VI. Scholarships Coverage
- Tuition fee;
- On-campus accommodation fee or off-campus
accommodation monetary subsidy (RMB 700/month for master’s programs; RMB
1,000/month for doctoral programs); - Living allowance (RMB 3,000/month for
master’s programs; RMB 3,500/month for doctoral programs); - Comprehensive medical insurance.

- Academic transcripts for bachelor’s degree for doctoral program academic transcripts for both bachelor’s and master’s degree studies
- Study or research plan.
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Language proficiency certificate.
- Scanned copy of valid regular passport.
- CV, completed in Chinese or English.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Other supporting documents, such as abstracts of published papers, academic activities, merit or internship certificates, may be submitted in the “Supporting Materials” section in online application as well.
Note: English proficiency requirements for English-medium programs Applicants should present a TOEFL iBT certificate with a score of 80 or above, or an IELTS (academic) certificate with an overall score of 6.0 or above. XMU’s DI Code for TOEFL is C310. Applicants who have taken all courses in English during their bachelor’s degree studies are exempt from this requirement, but a medium-of-instruction certificate from the University should be furnished. Native English speakers are exempt from this requirement.
