About ADB Scholarship:

The ADB Japan Scholarship Program is a government of Japan initiative that invites the best-qualified brains among the ADB’s nationals to pursue master’s degrees at participating institutes in Asia and the Pacific. The University of Tokyo, Japan, is one of these universities. Students can study for free at Tokyo University with the Asian Development Japan Scholarship. The primary goal of this fully-funded fellowship for overseas students is to build on their existing talents and encourage them to pursue careers in disciplines relevant to development for a brighter future. Scholarship benefits:

  • The ADB-Japan scholarship will cover the entire tuition expense.
  • A monthly stipend and housing allowance will be granted to the scholars.
  • A book allowance, library, and a stipend for instructional materials will be provided to the scholar.
  • Medical insurance.
  • The cost of travel will be paid by the ADB.

Documents requirement:

The candidate must be a citizen of an ADB member country.

Candidates must be accepted into a master’s program at the University of Tokyo in Japan.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have an outstanding academic record.

After completing the degree program, the candidate must have two years of professional experience.

Candidates must be able to communicate in English.

The candidate must be under the age of 35 years old. The age limit for programs designed for senior officials and managers, on the other hand, is 45 years.

He or she cannot apply if he or she is an ADB employee or has a close relationship with one.

How to apply

  • Candidates must apply to the University of Tokyo for admission to the master’s program of their choice.
  • Candidates must specify that they are applying for an ADB scholarship.
  • The University of Tokyo must also get the ADB JSP information sheet form.
  • Candidates must provide proof of income in the form of tax returns or proof of family income.
  • The applicants will be ranked by Tokyo University, which will then provide the information to the ADB.
  • The materials must be submitted both online and via mail.
