The ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (ADB–JSP) annually enrolls around 300 students at academic institutions across the Region. Scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social growth of their home nations once their studies are over.

Scholarship Eligibility:
- Member of an ADB borrowing member and a nation that is eligible for a Japanese Official Development Assistance scholarship.
- Accepted into one of the 25 institutions for an authorized course.
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in addition to a strong academic record is required.
- At the time of application, you must have at least 2 years of full-time professional working experience (obtained after completing a university degree).
- At the time of application, you must be under 35 years old. The age restriction for programs designed for senior officials and managers is 45 years old.
- I’m doing well.
- Should be willing to return to his or her native country after completing the program’s courses.
- The scholarship is not open to executive directors, alternate directors, ADB management and employees, consultants, or close relatives of the aforementioned.
- The scholarship is not available to employees of ADB–JSP partner institutions.
- Scholarships are not available to applicants who live or work in a nation other than their native country.
- Applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programs are not eligible for the ADB–JSP.
