About CERN internships:
The CERN Online Summer Student Program in Switzerland is presently accepting applications. Are you pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics right now? Internships details:
- Deadline: There is no defined date for submissions. Anytime during the year is an excellent time to apply.

- Host university: National Institute of Genetics (NIG).

The benefits of Internships:
- Eligible candidates will sign a three-month contract of affiliation to work on a technical project.
- Interns will be paid a daily subsistence stipend of 90 CHF to cover the cost of their lodging and meals while in Geneva.
- A lump-sum travel allowance will be given to you. This is to pay the expense of transportation between Geneva and your residence at the time of the selection committee.
- During your stay in Switzerland, you will be covered by CERN’s comprehensive health insurance system.
- CERN will also assist you in locating housing near your employment location.
- You will have the opportunity to attend a comprehensive physics lecture program as well as a series of CERN open IT sessions.
Internship qualification:
- The CERN Students summer program is open to students of all nationalities.
- Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- By the summer of 2022, applicants must have completed at least three years of full-time university education.
- During this online studentship with CERN, you must stay enrolled as a student, but students who anticipate to graduate during the European summer of 2022 are also able to apply.
- Candidates must not have previously worked at CERN for more than 3 months on any other status CERN programs.
- You have never been a CERN Summer Student before.
- Applicants must have a strong command of the English language, with knowledge of French an added bonus.
Internship requirement:
- In either English or French, please provide your most recent CV.
- Include a copy of your most recent academic transcript, which should include a summary of your grades.
- You must get two letters of recommendation from your lecturers/teachers and/or past internship supervisors.
