Chinese government scholarships (CGS) are awarded by the Chinese scholarship council (CSC) to international students in Chinese universities affiliated with CSC. These scholarships are awarded to students through agencies i.e., (a) universities (b) Chinese embassies in other country s, which have diplomatic relations with China. Student can prepare their application material and submit it to the universities directly. As for embassy application is concerned, embassies generally receive applications in other countries via some Higher education institute/ministry of education of that education.

Applicant Eligibility：
- Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
- Not be an enrolled degree student in Chinese universities at the time of application.
- Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
- Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
- Be a High school diploma holder under the age of 25 when applying for bachelor programs.
Duration:
- Bachelor degree program: 4 years,
- Master’s degree programs: 2.5 to 3 years (might be extended for 1-year Chinese language study)
- Doctoral degree programs: 4 years (might be extended for 1-year Chinese language study)
Completing your Application – Supporting Documents
- Passport – Copy of the passport photo page and passport/visa-style photo;
- Highest Diploma – Highest Diploma granted.
- Official Academic Transcript
- Study plan – A Study Plan (or Personal Statement) – should explain in detail what you are going to do with the scholarship program in China. It must include such information as the major you want to study in or the field of your research interest, your background, and your interest in China and in Chinese culture. Please note that the Study Plan or Personal Statement requires a minimum of 500 words bachelor degree 800 words for master degree and 1200 words for doctoral program; A simple of study plan can take from “Scholarship and Job house office”
- Two Recommendation Letters – Students required to submit two Recommendation Letters. These letters should be issued by two differed teachers from student previous (preferably recently attended) university. A simple pattern of Recommendation Letter can take from “Scholarship and Job house office”
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form – A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form is required by the Chinese government. Blank Foreigner physical examination form Scholarship and Job house office.
- Language Proficiency Certificate– For Language Proficiency, please choose “TOFLE or ILET or Medium English Certificate”
- Other document like research paper, award and research experience
- Two copies of the Spectacular Booklet along with the Online Margin Print Form, one month before the deadline to sign up for the University. (According to earlier, more accepted belief)

- Completing your Application – Online Application CSC developed an online application system for all students who want to apply for scholarship in Chinese universities. All students need to make an account for online application on this website (click here).
- In online application, first students are required to enter “Agency number”. Agency number is code given to each agency (universities and Chinese embassies). Students can find agency number of different universities You can take a list of Chinese universities agency number from Scholarship and Job house office
- University online application: visit to selected university and fill the online system.
