About UNHCR:

The UNHCR has a worldwide scholarship program for tertiary study (DAFI Scholarships- The Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative). This is a fully financed scholarship administered by UNHCR and supported by the German government.

Over 9300 refugees benefited from this scholarship, which was established in 1992 by the German government and managed by UNHCR.

In Pakistan, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) grants scholarships to refugees pursuing higher education.

Scholarship details:

  • Announced date: July 17, 2021

  • Level of education: Bachelor degree.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The applicants should have a valid POR card.
  • The applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 30.
  • Having a certificate from the 12th grade.
  • Enrolled in HEC-accredited schools
  • At least 60% on the most recent examination of high school.
  • From his family, he is the only DAFI beneficiary.
  • There has been no previous academic scholarship.
  • Demonstrated desire to give back to the community.
  • Interest in a subject of study that is relevant to the job market and has a good chance of being hired.

Documents required:

  • Applicants must complete the DAFI application form.
  • Two passport photographs, one with your name on the back and the other without.
  • Obtain a copy of your registration from the appropriate authorities. The POR Card/recognized refugee card demonstrates international protection status.
  • Transcripts and a copy of your graduation from high school.
  • a copy of your admissions letter (if you’ve already been accepted) and a copy of your transcript (if you’ve already enrolled).
  • Letter of motivation describing your desire to study, professional goals, and future plans; how your personal, familial, and/or societal circumstances qualifies you for and merits the scholarship; and any particular information about your situation, such as the absence of paperwork and certifications. The letter should not exceed 500 words and should be written in the language of instruction for your program of study.
