About Ireland Government Scholarship:
International students of exceptional merit who want to earn a master’s or doctorate in Ireland are supported via the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) program. Managed by the Higher Education Authority, the initiative receives funding from the Irish government and is a collaboration with Irish universities. The program provides funding for 60 students annually to attend graduate school full-time for a master’s or doctoral degree. Scholarship benefits:
The scholarship provides all costs, including
- For one year of education, a €10,000 stipend supports students’ housing and study expenses.
- Tuition and other registration fees at the higher education school are completely waived.
- The scholarship is intended to benefit the students’ future lives and careers.
Scholarship criteria and document requirements:
- Highly meritorious students from non-EU/EEA countries are eligible for the award. Applicants must be citizens and inhabitants of a nation that is not a member of the European Union.
- The scholarship is available to the following individuals:
- One year of a taught master’s degree program or one year of a research programme (meaning one year of a two-year research master’s or a three- to four-year Ph.D. programme)
- Underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply to study in Ireland.
- When selecting scholarship recipients, the HEA will consider gender balance.
