Position title: laboratory Technologist

Location: Afghanistan, Kapisa, Parwan, Logar, Laghman, Paktika, Khost, Konar, Samangan, Sar-e-Pul, Urozgan, Jawzjan, Nimroz

Objective:

The applicant is going to work at (Covid-19 testing laboratory) in one of the mentioned 12 provinces and responsible for laboratory testing for Covid-19 using RT-PCR or other methods if needed. He/She will report test results, ensure quality control and ensure proper preservation of lab materials. H/She may also manage and collect daily laboratory tests in local clinics such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, bacteriology, serology, parasitology, and blood banking to prepare required data for use in the therapy Covid-19 patients at the provincial central hospital.

Main responsibilities:

  • Receive, process, and analyze sample Covid-19 test data. 
  • doing tests Covid-19 on samples using RT-PCR and other testing techniques
  • Design and implement laboratory test based on world standard procedures, make consideration and interpret findings
  • Make sure to store reagents properly, keep all the consumable materials according to safety guidance
  • Prepare and deliver all the required laboratory items
  • Answer correctly the questions and queries of the visitors and employees
  • Administrative tasks such as preparing and documenting procedures, orders and maintain files and notebooks
  • Gather report and test results using a computer program.
  • Keep all the tools and materials in correct working order and keep them in the proper and clean work area
  • Committed and following safety and health rules according to the organization and environmental regulation
  • •   Capable to do other task assigned by his/her supervisor

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Have Technical knowledge and skills
  • Lab relevant technical experience with proof documents

Education requirement

  • Essential: Diploma/ Degree in Medical laboratory technology and approved by Ministry of higher education

Experience:

  • Essential: at least 2 years of experience in hospital or clinical laboratory. 
  • Desirable:  prefer regional/residential candidate who has work experience in Covid-19 laboratory
  • Languages: Fluent Pashto and Dari and understand English

IT Skills:

  • Capable to work with MS office program

Note:

  • Candidates can select only two provinces among 12 provinces and priority will be given to the candidate of the same provinces.
