About Mexico Government Scholarship:
Excellent Awards of the Government of Mexico for Foreigners are available in 2023 through the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), in conjunction with AMEXCID-The Mexican Agency for International Development Assistance. Applying for this opportunity is open to international students who intend to study in Mexico for their specialization, Master’s, doctoral, or Ph.D., postgraduate research, undergraduate, or postgraduate student mobility programs.
More than 80 Mexican higher education institutions (HEIs) are open to students from more than 180 other countries thanks to the Call. These scholarships serve as evidence of the nation’s advancements in the humanities and sciences.
By providing Merit Scholarships, the Mexican government will significantly strengthen its position as a global player and affirm its willingness to encourage cooperative measures that will aid in the development of highly qualified individuals.

Benefits of the Scholarship:
Excellent The required costs are covered by the government of Mexico grants:
- For Master’s scholarships, the Bachelor Mobility Program, a graduate degree level, and Master’s level research, there is a four-times monthly stipend of $12,614.80.
- For doctoral and research stays at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels, a monthly stipend of 5 (five) times the monthly value of the UMA, which is now $15,768.50.

- Through the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), medical insurance.
- Free of charge in order to grant the Mexican visa.

Scholarship eligibility:
The following conditions must be satisfied by applicants:
- Applicants must be citizens of one of the 180 nations that qualify.
- possess a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree according to the program level required.
- The registration form must be completed in Spanish.
- own a recent degree with an average GPA of 80%.
- admission to one of the Mexican universities mentioned in this post.
- The candidate must not be a Mexican citizen at the time of application.
Who is not Eligible?
These individuals are unable to apply for the Excellence Scholarships offered by the Mexican government in 2023:
- immediate family members of foreign diplomats accredited in Mexico.
- People from outside Mexico who are there without a temporary student resident visa may do so.
- foreigners with Mexican citizenship, including children whose parents are Mexican.
- candidates from outside who either already have or plan to apply for a Mexican visa for family unity.
- winners of scholarships from any federal government institution last year.
- winners of scholarships from any Mexican government agency.
- Former recipients of AMEXCID grants who sought a scholarship before the same number of months had passed since they got their benefits.
Scholarship requirements:
- application form online.
- All academic records, including transcripts, degrees, and certificates.
- an image of a current passport.
- Declaration letter that the applicant has signed (Format 1).
- 4 pages at most of a curriculum vitae with the applicant’s signature (Format 2).
- a copy of a recent (within three months) medical certificate from a public or private healthcare facility.
For Bachelor and Master level mobilities:
- a letter of acceptance or recommendation from a Mexican university with a GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) that was issued no more than 60 days ago.
- a copy of the letter from the home university indicating the academic credits earned for the Mexican studies or disciplines.
- a copy of the communication provided by the recipient institution in the event that the mobility is conducted in a language other than Spanish or the participant’s mother tongue.
- A copy of the candidate’s academic transcript showing a GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) is required if they are already pursuing a degree in Mexico.
- a copy of the diploma from the prior degree for graduate-level activities.
For Master, Doctorate:
- a letter of acceptance or recommendation from a Mexican university with a GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) that was issued no more than 60 days ago.
- a duplicate of the most recent degree.
- a copy of the home institution’s studies certificate from the most recent study period, which shows a GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) is required.
- A copy of the academic transcript certifying a minimum cumulative GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) is required if the candidate is already pursuing a degree in Mexico.
- A copy of the communication from the receiving institution is required if the studies are in a language other than Spanish as the mother tongue.
For research stays at the graduate level:
- a copy of the most recent degree, either a doctorate or a master’s, as appropriate.
- A copy of the latest period’s transcript from the institution of origin, which must state a minimum GPA of 85 (on a scale of 0 to 100 or 8.5 on a scale of 10) is required.
- The acceptance letter must state that mentoring will be offered to help with the research’s progress, as well as the applicant’s advisor’s name and the title of the project.
- A copy of the notification issued by the receiving institution is required if the research stay will be performed in a language other than Spanish and distinct from the applicant’s home tongue.
