About scholarship:
This scholarship program was established in October 2022 for Afghan applicants who are unable to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Omid Farda is a Persian word that signifies “hope for tomorrow”: It gives the scholarship its name while also stating its purpose: The purpose is to allow participants to continue or complete a specialized course at Bremen by taking the Bremen preparatory course.

Documents requirement:
These papers must be uploaded into the form.
- a copy of your ID Card.
- Certificates from schools and universities, enrollment certificates, and proof of study.
- A tabular curriculum vitae, potentially with a letter of recommendation.
- According to 4 evidence of the cause for necessity (see criteria below)
- Proof of study suspension, if applicable.
- Proof or a description of the unique personal or familial circumstances, if appropriate.
- Proof of volunteer work, communal, social, or (university) political involvement, if appropriate.
You must demonstrate this necessity (guideline #4 of the procurement process):

- In Afghanistan, your current address
- Give a credible description of your existing circumstances.
- demonstrate that, owing to the political circumstances in Afghanistan, you are now unable to register a blocked account for a student visa and
- In Afghanistan, submit evidence of enrolment and/or a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Who can Apply?
Afghan applicants:
- Those who are currently living in Afghanistan as of the application deadline?
- who is under 31 years of age?
- the whose intended course is provided by one of the state institutions in Bremen (Bremen/Bremerhaven), the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
- who can confidently state that they intend to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree?
- whose necessity will be demonstrated in accordance with procurement standards #4.
- who has a bachelor’s degree that is less than five years old and can demonstrate a direct or indirect higher education admission qualification?
- Family and personal circumstances (e.g., caring for close family members, severe diseases, raising children, etc.) and, in particular, volunteer work or social, (university) political involvement are also considered in the application review.
- The scholarship covers application, account, and travel charges, as well as the creation of a blocked account (EUR 10,332).
