Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) 2021/2022

1. Description

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified international students for the Shanghai Government Scholarship 2022/2023 for Bachelors’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs. This scholarship provided by the Shanghai government for international students studying in Shanghai.

3. Scholarship categories and Benefit

There are two types of scholarships and cover the following things.

Type A:

• Tuition-free
• Accommodation,
• Living allowance 3000CNY for master and 3500CNY for Ph.D.
• Comprehensive medical insurance

Type B:

• Tuition-free
• Comprehensive medical insurance.

• Bachelor
• Masters
• PhD

6. Eligibility

• Be a non-Chinese citizen
• Good health.
• Not be an enrolled degree student in Chinese universities at the time of application.
• Be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for the undergraduate programs
• Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
• Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
• Scholarship applicants must have excellent academic performance and also the required language requirements
• Applicants must meet university and professional requirements.
• Applicants should not receive other grants from the Chinese government at the same time.

7. Duration of Scholarship:

• Bachelor’s Degree Program: 4 to 5 years
• Master’s degree programs: 2 to 3 years
• Doctoral degree programs: 3 to 4 years

Step 2 – Submit the program application on the selected university website, print out the degree program application form and sign on it.
