Summary of the Job

The Data Collector is responsible for conducting home visits in the sampled communities, interviewing survey eligible respondents, and collecting LQAS survey data as directed by survey protocol, under the direct supervision of the Field Supervisor. After being trained in this area, data collectors are expected to work together with their male or female partner every day under the supervision of the field supervisor and collect data in structured data collection tools or electronic tablets. Once the data has been collected, the field supervisor will review it before submitting it to the central data collection center (database).

Job responsibility

  • Using the pre-developed questionnaires, conduct interviews with survey high occupancy, community women in the selected supervisory areas of the previously mentioned provinces.
  • Plan community visits with the field supervisor and peer data collector to choose survey locations and respondents at random according to the survey protocol’s guidelines.
  • Collect geographic information using the offered technology and equipment (programmed electronic tablets) following standards and guidelines given during the training.
  • PPHO and AFIAT monitoring who are visiting their province for watching and supportive supervision should be ready to work with.
  • Obey with AFIAT and ELCS HR standards, as well as the rules and regulations that the ELCS HR staff will deliver.
  • Must be able to go to all of the given provinces that are targeted by ELCS.
  • Commitment to working in difficult field conditions and a high-risk environment.
  • When interviewing survey eligible participants, obtain “informed consent” from them according to the protocols.
  • Follow the instructions and directions provided during the training to complete the survey.
  • Allow enough time to complete the interviews in the areas while keeping a good connection with the hosts and producing reliable results.
  • Develop a polite working relationship with the rest of the team.
  • Any concern, problem, issue, or fear that arises from the investigation should be shared with the supervisors.
  • Follow the supervisor’s instructions and make any required corrections.
  • Execute out all additional responsibilities as assigned by his or her boss.

Job requirement

  • Being an Afghan and the priority is given to the residents of the relevant province for data collection.
  • The applicants must be graduated from high school and priority is given to university graduates.
  • Have at least one year of work experience in health and data collection.
  • It may be advantageous to have prior field data gathering expertise in a health-related survey.
  • The applicants must be fluent in both Dari and Pashto national languages.
  • The applicants should have good communication skills and also can work in a group.
  • If the applicants having Knowledge of BPHS and EPHS or any data collection software, such as ODK, Kobotoobox, or Survey CTO, can be used. will be prioritized in the selection process.
