Applicants for the Global Teacher Prize will be evaluated using a stringent set of criteria to find an exceptional teacher who has made a significant contribution to the profession. The Academy will look for proof of a combination of the following:
- Using reproducible and scalable effective instructional approaches to affect global education quality.
- Using innovative teaching approaches that target specific difficulties in the school, community, or country and have demonstrated enough evidence to suggest they might be beneficial in tackling such challenges in a novel way.
- Improving student learning outcomes in the classroom.
- Community impact outside of the classroom provides distinct and distinguishing examples of excellence for the teaching profession and others.

- 6. Improving the teaching profession by assisting in the raising of the teaching bar, exchanging best practices, and assisting colleagues in overcoming any obstacles they experience in their school.
- 7. Recognition for teachers from governments, national teaching organizations, principals, colleagues, members of the larger community, or students.
Note: The Global Teacher Prize Academy, which includes head teachers, educational specialists, commentators, journalists, public officials, tech entrepreneurs, corporate directors, and scientists from across the world, will select the winner.

- Applicants should use creative instructional techniques to address the specific difficulties of their school, community, or nation. Student learning outcomes must be demonstrated.

- Recognized by the government, national teaching organizations, principals, and coworkers.
