About the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:
Finally, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2024 program is now accepting applications from Canadian and international students. The Canadian government’s fully-funded Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is available to Canadians, foreign nationals, and Canadian permanent residents. This fellowship supported three years of study in Canada in the disciplines of health research, natural sciences and/or engineering research, social sciences, and/or humanities research for foreign students.
One of the competitive scholarship programs for Masters leading to Ph.D. and Ph.D. is the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships. 2024 in Canada is available for foreign students and offers 166 grants for them to pursue a variety of master’s degrees leading to doctorates.

Candidates that fit the following criteria may apply for this scholarship:
- Candidates may be Canadians, foreign nationals, or Canadian permanent residents.
- possess a Vanier CGS quota and be nominated by just one Canadian university.
- begin your Ph.D. studies, especially combination programs like an MBA/Ph.D., MD/Ph.D., or DVM/Ph.D.
- want to pursue their doctorate studies full-time in the academic year that follows the results announcement or the summer semester.
- By May 1, 2024, candidates must have finished no more than 32 months of full-time PhD studies.
- enrolled in an inter-institutional graduate research program.
- enrolled straight in a Ph.D. program after earning a bachelor’s degree.
- transferred into a doctorate program after having previously enrolled in a master’s program but without earning a degree.
- hold, if the Ph.D. program began after a master’s degree, and completed no more than 20 months of their doctoral studies as of May 1, 2024.
- They have completed the last two years of full-time study or the equivalent with a first-class average recognized by their institution.
- Candidates should not have previously received a doctorate-level scholarship or fellowship from CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC in order to begin or finish a Ph.D. program.
