About scholarship:

Inspire Pakistan, in collaboration with UNHCR, is executing DAFI, the UNHCR’s worldwide tertiary education scholarship program (The Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee initiative). Refugee youth studying undergraduate courses and technical education (TVET) in institutions approved by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Government of Pakistan are eligible for the DAFI scholarship program (UNHCR). This scholarship program assists refugee kids who would otherwise be unable to further their careers by pursuing their initial university-level education.

There are two types of UNHCR DAFI Scholarships:

  • Higher education (undergraduate) is only available to Afghan refugees.
  • Technical education is a type of education that focuses (for refugees of all nationalities).

Scholarship eligibility criteria:

  • You must have valid refugee status.
  • Between the ages of 17 and 30.
  • Having completed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC/Intermediate) or an equivalent qualification.
  • The candidate must be enrolled in an HEC-approved institution.
  • The candidate must have received at least 60% on the previous examination.
  • The applicant must be the only DAFI recipient in his or her family.
  • The candidate should not be a recipient of any other academic awards.
  • Strong desire to help refugees and the host community.
  • A desire to obtain a professional certification.
  • Preference will be given to female candidates and refugees with varying requirements.

Documents requirements for undergraduate studies:

  • The DAFI Application Form must be completely filled out and signed.
  • Two passport-size photos
  • A copy of a valid POR/UNHCR refugee card is required.
  • Matriculation and intermediate certificates, as well as DMCs.
  • Certificate of Equivalence for pupils who attended Afghan schools.
  • Proof of enrolment in the institute (Admission Letter/ Bonafide Letter) and the results of the most recent examination.
